After a tumultuous
lockdown and despite hundreds of complaints of overcharging by the
Maharashtra Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), the utility has decided to make quite a power move. Now, amid heavy dependency on work from home (WFH), the power body has cautioned users to either pay up all their dues or face a power cut in short, as the outstanding billing amount rises, MSEDCL will disconnect defaulters’ connections.

During this weekend, the old areas of the city will have to prepare themselves to brace for quite a few hours of
load shedding as the Maharashtra Electricity Transmission Company Limited (
MSETCL) will be undertaking maintenance work of the 132 KV gas insulated sub-station in Rasta Peth.
As a result, power supply of six other substations will be shut down for at least 36 hours.
