Amid rising COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, night restrictions have been imposed from March 11 to April 4, with a complete lockdown on weekends in the
Aurangabad district.
The district administration in Aurangabad informed that there will be restrictions on the movement of people between 9 pm to 6 am on weekdays and throughout the day on weekends.
During this period schools, colleges and wedding halls will remain closed. Hotels will close by 9 pm and food delivery will be available till 11 pm.

As Maharashtra battles a surge in Covid, 229 cases have emerged from a single hostel in a school in Washim district. The school has been declared a containment zone after 225 students and four teachers tested positive.
The school has over 300 students from the Vidarbha region, mostly from Amravati and Yavatmal, two districts that have contributed to a spike in virus cases in recent weeks.
The students had joined the Washim hostel on February 14. Twenty one students tested positive in the first few days, after which all 327 students of the school were made to take RT-PCR tests.

Mumbai: Amid coronavirus restrictions in Maharashtra, a huge crowd gathered as Maharashtra minister Sanjay Rathod’s convoy reached the Pohradevi temple in the Washim district of the state. Visuals from the scene show the police resorting to baton-charge to disperse the crowd.
Responding to the incident, Vasant Pardesi, SP, Washim district, said that despite warnings and appeals, around 8,000 to 10,000 people gathered near the Pohradevi temple, violating COVID-19 related rules. A case has been registered against them.
