Mumbai local trains might not open for all for another 15 days

Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Vijay Wadettiwar on Monday said that the local trains of Mumbai might not open their doors for the general public for another 15 days as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.

Photo: BCCL The Ministry of Railways on Thursday allowed passengers of long-distance trains to travel in suburban local trains in Mumbai. According to an official release shared by the Central Railways, passengers who have a valid and confirmed ticket for any outstation train are allowed to buy a non-return local train ticket and travel by local train to the boarding point from anywhere in the city and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region from six hours prior to the time of departure of the train on that particular day.
