A MAN who falsely claimed to be a police officer during an argument and committed online fraud has received a jail sentence.
Ipswich Magistrates Court heard Jack Clark received $1050 from a person after selling a bicycle on Gumtree, but failed to send the bicycle to the buyer.
The court heard Clark’s offending will place the UK citizen at risk of deportation.
Jack Alexander Samuel Clark, 35, from South Ripley and previously Gympie, pleaded guilty to impersonating a police officer on June 21 last year; fraud on March 28, 2020; driving when drug positive while on a probationary licence at Margate on March 6, 2020 and also on the Gateway Motorway on August 13; three counts of failing to appear at court; and three counts of bail breaches by not reporting to police.

BRONCOS young gun Tesi Niu has been told to kerb his speed when off the field after getting busted driving unlicensed because of a pile of demerit points for speeding.
When 19-year-old Niu went before an Ipswich court on Friday morning, Magistrate Terry Duroux counted 18 demerit points against the Broncos player’s name.
The court heard Niu was on his way home from training when intercepted and charged.
As a result his licence suspension will stretch out for six more months.
Fanitesi Niu, 19, from Inala, pleaded guilty on Friday to driving when unlicensed due to the allocation of demerit points at Redbank Plains on Wednesday, February 10.

Subscriber only A PRISONER busted with a needle and syringe wedged between the cheeks of his buttocks then refused to tell police how it came to be there. Ipswich Magistrates Court heard officers in the Ipswich watch-house grew suspicious after seeing an odd interaction between prisoners when viewing security footage. Carlin Tony Lee Oxenbridge, 35, from North Booval, pleaded guilty to failing to take reasonable care and precaution with a needle and syringe on Wednesday, January 13. He appeared from jail via video-link. Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said officers watching CCTV of the exercise yard saw what looked to be something being handed between prisoners.

A BAIL application on behalf of one of the men charged with the kidnapping and torture of an Ipswich businessman and his girlfriend has been delayed.
Justin John Kuhner, 41, was extradited from Sydney to Queensland in July last year to face the charges, relating to an alleged sickening attack on businessman, Dutch national Eduardus Groenewegen, and his Belgian model girlfriend Caroll Dufailly.
The couple was allegedly detained and assaulted in an industrial area at Raceview before being dumped in bushland after the ordeal.
Other charges Kuhner faces along with his co-accused include deprivation of liberty; administering poison (ammonia) with intent to harm/endangering life; assaults causing bodily harm when armed/in company; entering dwelling by break at night/threaten violence when armed – serious organised crime; extortion with intent to gain benefit; and impersonating police officers.
