A 28-year-old scavenger, Abdullahi Musa, has been arraigned at an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court for theft.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Bamikole Olasunkanmi, told the court yesterday that the defendant entered the house of one Mr Gbenga Ilesanmi to commit felony and stole three block moulding machines valued at N185,000.
Inspector Olasunkanmi, further said the defendant on May 10, 2021, at about 6.am conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by fighting with one Gbenga llesanmi and other members of the community when they wanted to recover the stolen property.
Counsel to the defendant, Omowumi Olowolafe, urged the court to grant his client bail, saying he would not jump bail, and Magistrate Abdulhamid Lawal grant the bail in the sum of N100,000 and adjourned the case to August 12, 2021.

A 50-year-old man, Daniel Emmanuel, who allegedly stole vegetables worth N34,000 on Wednesday appeared in a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ado-Ekiti.
The police charged Emmanuel, whose address was not provided, with theft.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Bankole Olasunkanmi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec. 30 at about 1.30 a.m.at Post Office area in Ado-Ekiti.
Olasunkanmi, alleged that the defendant stole one wheelbarrow filled with carrots, cucumbers, green beans , worth N34, 000 belonging to a trader, Abubakar Umaru.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

The police in Ekiti State, on Tuesday, arraigned seven persons before an Ado Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for alleged possession of illicit drugs.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Bankole Olasunkanmi, told the court that the defendants, who also allegedly damaged a pair of police handcuffs in the process of their arrest, had in their possession substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
He listed the defendants as Azubuike Emmanuel (35), Oluwafemi Samson (23), Sunkanmi Okondo (27), Bello Femi (22), Nnamdi Ugwu (34), Awoseemo Sesan (32), and Agboju Isiaka (24).
The prosecutor said the defendants committed the offence on December 13, 2020, around 1.05pm at Easy Life Brothel in Ikere-Ekiti.
