Sheringham, Cromer, Holt, Bodham, Northrepps, and surrounding villages. The initiative started last October when
Lighthouse Community Church, determined to provide some help to the community during pandemic restrictions, contacted North Norfolk Children’s Services to see what they could do. From this, Operation Packed Lunch was conceived in order to provide packed lunches, as the name suggests, for vulnerable families, on four days during October Half Term.
Network Norfolk man lights up Christmas A member of the Network Norfolk editorial team is bringing some festive joy to his neighbourhood by decorating his house and garden with thousands of Christmas lights. Tony Rothe reports.
Tony and Maggie Rothe started decorating their
Sheringham home for Christmas when they were newly married, 31 years ago, and have gradually built up their display year by year ever since. They now have about 265 sets of lights, amounting to over 22,000 bulbs.
“People ask about our electricity bills” said Tony. “When they are all on, they cost about 60p per hour, but they don’t all stay on all the time. And we don’t actually spend a great deal of money on all this – we usually pick up a few new sets each year in the sales”
