Network Norfolk man lights up Christmas A member of the Network Norfolk editorial team is bringing some festive joy to his neighbourhood by decorating his house and garden with thousands of Christmas lights. Tony Rothe reports.
Tony and Maggie Rothe started decorating their
Sheringham home for Christmas when they were newly married, 31 years ago, and have gradually built up their display year by year ever since. They now have about 265 sets of lights, amounting to over 22,000 bulbs.
“People ask about our electricity bills” said Tony. “When they are all on, they cost about 60p per hour, but they don’t all stay on all the time. And we don’t actually spend a great deal of money on all this – we usually pick up a few new sets each year in the sales”
