After an eventful weekend the Bears are set to play No. 4 Washington State on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a match against Washington on Sunday at 12 p.m.
California and Arizona came into the season in similar situations. The Golden Bears and Wildcats both had new coaches and were looking to turn things around. The Wildcats had hovered around .500.
Last weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah, Cal volleyball, again, found itself incurring dents in the shining armor of its 11-0 preseason record. Coming off of a loss in their Pac-12 opener against Stanford, the Bears fell just short in a five-set battle to Utah.
