Thank you for challenging me to be a better player on and off the court. I wish nothing but the best for the Syracuse program. With that being said, I would like to announce that I will be transferring to North Carolina A&T State University. I am excited for the road ahead of me and most importantly, I am excited to become an Aggie!” Blackstone wrote.

Miami welcomes two international recruits from transfer portal

It’s been a busy off-season for head coach Katie Meier and the Miami women’s basketball team. After an indifferent season, Meier sought international talent to improve her roster. The team will welcome two transfers, Lola Pendande and Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi, for the 2021-22 season. Last week, the team announced Almeria, Spain native Lola Pendande would be transferring to Miami from the University of Utah. The 6-foot-4 forward spent two years with the Utes and was named Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention. “Lola is a strong athletic post with proven ability to compete at the Division I level,” Meier said in a team press release.

The redshirt junior is the third Syracuse player from the 2020-21 roster to announce a transfer to an Atlantic Coast Conference foe.  Including her redshirt year, Djaldi-Tabdi spent four seasons with the Orange, appearing in 89 total games and averaging 7.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. Djaldi-Tabdi joined nine other SU players from this year’s roster in the transfer portal, and became the fourth to announce her new destination.
