For decades, the producer and rapper Madlib had no interest in synthesizing his disparate works into a single statement. So the electronic music producer Four Tet took matters into his own hands.

Four Tet and Madlib announced
Sound Ancestors last month. The album will feature previously released singles âRoad of the Lonely Onesâ and âHopprockâ.
Sound Ancestors is due out January 29 via Madlib Invazion. Four Tet has mentioned that the album was assembled from âhundreds of pieces of musicâ that Madlib sent him over a period of two years.
Madlib And Four Tet Continue To Tease Sound Ancestors With New Track Dirtknock Friday, 22 January 2021
Madlib and Four Tet have dropped a new single, Dirtknock.
Built on a sparse, rhythmic percussion sample, subtle guitar lines, and soothing vocals, the track is the latest preview of Sound Ancestors , due out on January 29.
Electronic musician Four Tet, aka Kieran Hebden, handles sample arrangements on the record, which also includes the previously shared cuts Hopprock and Road Of The Lonely Ones.

Madlib has confirmed the details of his new album. Sound Ancestors will arrive on January 29 via Madlib Invazion and finds electronic musician Four Tet, aka Kieran Hebden, handling sample arrangements.
