Logic and Madlib have formed a new duo project, MadGic. Last night, they released a new joint single called “Mars Only pt. 3.” It’s one of the first new songs from Logic since the end of the Maryland rapper’s previously announced “retirement;” he returned with the brief single “Tired in Malibu” earlier this month. Listen to “Mars Only pt. 3” below.
The song’s lyrics allude to the existence of an entire full-length MadGic album: “Logic and Madlib is MadGic, your catalogue tragic/Fuck a underground, fuck a pop sound/Made this whole album in a lockdown, hip hop is our town.” Logic previously discussed the possibility of working with Madlib during an interview with The Needle Drop last fall.
