The meeting will be held in person at 5 p.m. in the County Board Room. One of the items on the agenda is the approval of an ordinance expanding the Southwestern Enterprise Zone to include additional parts of Granite City and Venice.

County weighs adding residential properties to enterprise zones Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail 5of5 EDWARDSVILLE A proposed expansion and change to Madison County’s Southwestern Madison County Enterprise Zone has led to sharp disagreement over whether to include residential development. The Madison County Board’s Grants Committee last week discussed several proposed changes, including adding territory, extending tax abatement time periods to 10 from four years and including residential development. Enterprise zones offer incentives to developers, primarily in the form of property and sales tax incentives, investment tax credit, machinery and equipment sales tax exemptions and a utility tax exemption.

County to Award PEP Grants for Park Projects

WBGZ Radio 4/9/2021 | By Doug Jenkins - WBGZ Radio   Established in 2000, the Madison County PEP Grant will soon hand out $1.11 million in funding for various park and recreation projects around the county. Money for the grants come from a one-tenth of one percent sales tax. The Madison County Board will vote on the issue on April 21. Madison County Community Development Administrator Dave Tanzyus tells The Big Z there was a nice variety of projects submitted this year.
