As promised, MediaTek has taken the wraps off its latest flagship chipsets – Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 in China today. These chipsets succeed the Dimensity 1000 series and bring along significant improvements across the board.
Dimensity 1200: Specifications
Both the Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 are octa-core chipsets based on TSMC’s 6nm architecture, include an integrated 5G modem, and a lot more. First, let’s take a look at what the Dimensity 1200 has to offer.

Cortex-A78 ultra-core clocked at 3GHz, three Cortex-A78 super cores clocked at 2.6GHz, and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at 2GHz. Unlike the Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100, the Taiwanese giant has not employed the more powerful ARM Cortex-X1 core at the helm of the Dimensity 1200.

Realme’s upcoming flagship will get MediaTek Dimensity 1200
Realme‘s Madhav Sheth has made the news official via a tweet. While the tweet doesn’t reveal the name of the smartphone set to arrive, the mention of the hashtag ‘#XisTheFuture’ gives us an inkling that the smartphone will belong to the Realme X series. Realme X7 and X7 Pro 5G could launch in India soon, the company has hinted on Twitter. Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth put out a nine-second video on Twitter with the tagline, “X is the future” suggesting that the X-series smartphones will soon make their way into the Indian market. To recall, Realme X7 and X7 Pro were unveiled in China in September last year. Both are mid-range phones and support 5G connectivity. In November, Sheth confirmed in a tweet that the Realme X7 series will indeed be brought to India as a part of the company’s effort to “democratize 5G technology in 2021”.
