Passengers, crew safe after plane skids off Cebu airport runway

MANILA - The 29 passengers and four crew members are safe after a Philippine Airlines flight PR2369 experienced a runway excursion upon arrival at the Mactan Cebu International Airport on Friday. The plane landed in Cebu at around 11:39 a.m. from Caticlan, PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said in an advisory. Passengers, the two pilots, and two cabin crew disembarked from the plane using the aircraft's stairs. Villaluna said no one was injured during the incident. However, it has caused flights from Manila to be put on hold. "Flights from Manila to Cebu were put on hold until the runway obstruction was cleared. Once the aircraft was towed, flights from Manila took off," Villaluna said. The flight involved a De Havilland Dash 8 turboprop operated by PAL Express. The aircraft wheels veered off into the grass at the side edge of the runway.
