Renowned vineyards. Reporter it is hard to imagine another area of people being led back into the neighborhoods. Out here there is asked smoke and fire on that ridge. My colleague took video in the past hour. Take a look at this. This is from up close up on that ridge behind the ingle note winery where we are right now. As well as behind the mondavi vineyards. Were back there with cal fire crews. At the back of the vineyards. The strategy is they cut a containment line on the back end about a mile from the vineyards. They want to hold the fire there. That seems to be working. We have not seen it come up over the ridge. So far this evening. There are crews on the mountains standing by to watch him make sure it doesnt jump the containment line. Certainly there is concern we talked to the cal fire officials earlier today. To ask them what their strategy is. Going into the night. Live, from the cbs bay area studios, this is kpix5 news. Not so fast. Tonight, oakland puts an army of cops on the streets to block troublesome protesters at every turn. Good evening, im ann notarangelo. Brian hackney is off tonight. At one point, the crowd was estimated in the thousands. As the night wore on, there were a few incidents, but nothing major. Christian hartnett shows us how Police Stayed ahead of the protesters. Reporter tonight, it was much calmer than protests of previous weeks. There is no oakland or San Francisco chopper overhead. There are no police sirens. You can see some chp officers hanging out just in case something happens. A lot of outside agencies coming in today. And some special tactics have prevented things getting out of hand. As demonstrators marched through oakland yet again, police followed close behind. Relatively peaceful protests of thousands of people from earlier today dwindled down to a group of a few hundred as the night wore on. Flashing lights
