I know its maybe a safety issue, but i think it creates a traffic problem. Cars get all backed up. Reporter prestons effort lines up with a local campaign urging citywide no turn on red policy. More than 50 intersections in the tenderloin already have the restrictions. These have been very successful with pilot and in the tenderloin in my district and it has been really successful in preventing drivers from having conflicts and collisions with pedestrians and cyclists. Reporter preston says there was an 80 reduction in close calls after the new rule wasput in place.
