April 9, 2021 Barnes Declares For NBA
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Florida State’s Scottie Barnes, the ACC Freshman and Sixth Man of the Year in 2021, will enter his name for consideration in the 2021 NBA Draft. He becomes the fourth one-and-done player under Head Coach Leonard Hamilton and his staff in the last six seasons joining Malik Beasley (first round pick of the Denver Nuggets in 2016), Jonathan Isaac (first round Draft Lottery pick of the Orlando Magic in 2017), and Patrick Williams (first round Draft Lottery pick of the Chicago Bulls in 2020).
Barnes is widely expected to be one of the first five players selected in the NBA Draft on July 29, 2021. The NBA Draft Combine is scheduled for June 21-27 while the NBA Draft Lottery will be held on June 22.
Arizona Basketball Coaching Hot Board 2.0
Arizona has made the decision to part ways with head basketball coach Sean Miller and will now look to hire a new coach. The hiring comes at a unique time because of the IARP and the fact that nobody knows what the future will hold.
The Arizona administration will have to navigate the results of the IARP that are likely coming next summer, firing of Miller, and hiring of a new coach. The public eye will likely be on the hire because of how everything has gone down and Arizona will have to convince a new coach that the punishment will not take away from the ability to move forward and build a successful program.

LOS ANGELES (AP) Luka Garza of Iowa has won the John R. Wooden Award as the nation’s top men’s college basketball player.
The award presented by the Los Angeles Athletic Club was announced on ESPN’s “SportsCenter.” It was Garza s fourth player of the year award. He collected honors from The Associated Press as well as trophies named for Oscar Robertson and Lute Olson.
