Suisun fire division chief wraps up 27-year stint with department SUISUN CITY The City Council honored retiring Fire Division Chief Carmen Maio, who began his career in 1994 as a volunteer. Maio has held numerous posts over the years. Among his many accomplishments, Fire Chief Justin Vincent noted, was Maio being the city’s fire marshal.  “We owe you a great deal of gratitude,” Vincent told Maio.  “This is bittersweet,” Mayor Lori Wison said. “I see this as a huge loss.” “I started as a youngster,” Maio said. “It does go by quick.” Maio, an avid sailor, will enjoy his hobby. He said it would feel strange to not go to the fire station but he would be sailing new horizons.
