Yesterday. A man who is the secretary general of fifa blatters chief of staff, his right hand man. It was reported this man, not indicted that the point, not accused of wrong doing. It was revealed in 2008 he transferred roughly 10 million to an account of another fifa official. This particular official by the name of jack warner who was indicted last week other. According to the indictment, it is believed warner was instrumental in making sure south africa landed the games. Again, at this point, the chief of staff not indicted not accused of wrong doing. A lot of folks inside fifa and who watched the organization closely are surmising says this is what caused blatter to step down. The News Conference a few minutes ago said quote fifa needs profound restructuring. It was not a mandate he felt he could enact because a lot of players to help him were not on board. You know this story. He was riding in a motorcade in dallas, sitting next to his wife. Shots rang out from lee harvey oswald. Those were the four times that u. S. President s were assassinated. But one of the more recent close calls actually happened in 1981. Just over 30 years ago. It was on president ronald reagan. He was just 69 days into his presidency when this happened. He was leaving a speaking engagement. Thats when he was shot, along with three others outside of a hotel in washington, d. C. Reagan was shot in the chest. He was shot in the lower right arm. He survived, but he did have a punctured lung and suffered heavy internal bleeding. Now, the man who shot and wounded reagan and the three others that day was this man, John Hinckley jr. And his reason for doing it, it was the actress jodie foster. He said he did it because he had such strong feelings for her. He was obsessed with her. He thought this might somehow impress her or get her attention. Hinkley went to trial in 19
Government. Cnn White House Correspondent Michelle Kosinski has the latest. Reporter we are hearing from the office of Personnel Management that this enormous hack has happened. Possibly the biggest government hack we have seen. Effecting up to 4 million former and current Government Employees who may have had their personal information accessed. This office of personnel is the Hr Department of the federal government. They were actually trying to update their Cyber Security when they realized in april that it looked like an incursion happened. We know more detail about this. Those employees are being contacted. Theres reports out there that this could have come from china. For now, the white house is not commenting on that. The federal government has just been plagued by these attacks, especially in the past year. We heard about the white house and state department computers accessed. Just in the last week some 100,000 americans had their personal Tax Information accessed within the ir
