Snow and cold weather expected in Pueblo on Saturday

The mild weather cascading Pueblo in recent days is set to end Saturday.  According to meteorologist Mark Wankowski of the National Weather Service Pueblo, a cold front and moisture is set to hit the city for most of the day Saturday. Wind is expected to bring the cold through the Four Corners area from the Great Basin Friday night and stay in the area through the following day, possibly into Sunday.  Snow is projected to fall in the range of 1-3 inches overall but could be worse in Rye, Walsenburg and Trinidad. Both areas could receive up to six inches of snow as the front moves south. Each will see increased cloud cover through the night.

Pueblo crime beat: 2 suspects wanted; car wash reports thefts

The Pueblo Police Department is seeking Lorne Sellers, 21, and Enrique Cancio, 51.  Sellers is described as a 5-foot-10 white male weighing roughly 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a no-bond warrant alleging a pattern of racketeering through the Colorado Organized Crime Act (COCCA), burglary and three counts related to chop shop activity.  Cancio is a 6-foot Hispanic male with brown hair and eyes, weighing roughly 210 pounds. He has a no-bond warrant alleging assault.  If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of these individuals, you are encouraged to contact the Pueblo Police Department. 3 arrested after alleged theft, shooting at Pueblo marijuana grow

A Pueblo marijuana grow was burglarized on the 2200 block of Hickory Street Wednesday, leading to a search and arrest of three alleged offenders.  DenCo, a local marijuana grow, called the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office at 9:45 a.m. Brandon Lujan, 26; Daimon Lanckriet, 27, and Alissa Ramos, 21, were all arrested after the group allegedly fired shots at the shop while trying to flee.  No one was injured by the shots, but one employee suffered minor injuries after his vehicle was hit by a suspect vehicle. The employee was taken to a local hospital, treated and later released.  When deputies made it to the scene, two separate vehicles  a 2007 Cadillac and 2003 Ford Windstar  were found after being involved in separate accidents. Deputies set up a search for the suspects before locating and taking the three suspects into custody. 

Pueblo Police Chief Troy Davenport receives COVID-19 vaccination

Words are one thing, while actions are another. Skeptical communities were given another reason to believe in the country’s COVID-19 efforts Wednesday.  Pueblo Police Chief Troy Davenport took part in the state’s vaccination efforts at a local drive-thru testing station on Wednesday. He chose to bring his injection into the spotlight in hopes that others will follow.  “I’m absolutely confident in this vaccine,” Davenport said. “They have the brightest minds in the world  not just our country but the world   working on this topic. They have sunk millions of dollars into this effort and I’m absolutely confident that this will bring this pandemic to an end eventually.”
