Escondido schools quarantine 188 students, staff so far this month

Since Feb. 1, a total of 158 students and 30 employees have been quarantined after other individuals in their classrooms tested positive for COVID-19. During that time, five people at Rose Elementary School tested positive, leading to quarantines of 25 students and five employees, according to the school dashboard. There were also four positive cases at Farr Elementary School, resulting in quarantines of 44 students and five employees; three positive cases at Pioneer Elementary School, with 27 students and four staff members quarantined; and two positive cases at Mission Middle School, with 32 students and 10 staff members sent home.
