Bridgeport health care organization among 1st in country to partake in expedited vaccination program

Optimus Health Care in Bridgeport became one of the first community health centers in the country to take part in President Joe Biden s expedited vaccination program Friday.
Optimus Health Care President Ludwig Spinelli says the White House called him and his team to help with the program. We re pretty excited about it, he said. We re really trying to reach folks from under-served areas, folks who may be afraid of the vaccine, may have had a bad experience, maybe don t trust government type of service.

The Testaments, Margaret Atwood, will be the keynote speaker for the Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s (FCCF) annual celebration for its Fund for Women & Girls in April.
“Unite & Rise: A Virtual Celebration for the Fund for Women & Girls,” will begin at 5:30 p.m. on April 16
th. Individual tickets and sponsorship packages are available for purchase here.
The annual fundraiser will also mark the official introduction of
the emme coalition, the Fund for Women & Girls’ new signature initiative in partnership with OPTIMUS Health Care. A research-driven program for girls and women aged 12 to 49 in Bridgeport, the emme coalition will coordinate physical wellness, behavioral health and social services to give women and girls lifelong tools for wellbeing that can be passed along to future generations.
