Deputy commissioner Sakshi Sawhney informed that a total of 7,65,229.9 metric tonnes (MT) of wheat crop had arrived in the grain markets of the district, of which 7,62,586.8 MT had been procured by agencies. The farmers received payments worth Rs 1,658 crore against the wheat procured. Elaborate arrangements were made to ensure smooth operations for the farmers during the wheat procurement season. The DC expressed satisfaction over the purchase and lifting operations in the district.
