A drink driver who crashed into a fire engine will be sentenced next month. Lucy Higgins, 35, was arrested after the prang between her black Vauxhall Corsa and the fire engine on Dixon Way, Westlea, on Thursday afternoon at 3.20pm. No one was injured and the emergency vehicle was able to return to the fire station. Appearing before Swindon Magistrates Court this afternoon, Higgins, of Dixon Way, pleaded guilty to drink driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence. She was bailed to return to the court on June 22 for sentence. The justices ordered a pre-sentence report.

After their presentation, commissioners discussed the possibility of hiring a money manager to consolidate all the available cash to invest and making the treasurer’s office be responsible for the cash flow projections.
However, no action was taken.
In other money matters, commissioners approved a resolution for the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act. By doing that, they made available the supplemental Community Development Block Grant and Emergency Solutions Grant ESG-CV funding for grants to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.
