Woman charged with drink driving after Westlea crash involving car and fire engine A WOMAN charged with drink driving after a crash involving a fire engine and Vauxhall Astra in Swindon will appear in court today. Police arrested Lucy Higgins after the collision on Dixon Way in Westlea which happened at around 3.20pm on Thursday. They charged the 35-year-old, who lives on the street, with driving a motor vehicle when over the alcohol limit, driving a motor vehicle without with a licence and using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance. She has been refused bail and will appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court this afternoon
A drink driver who crashed into a fire engine will be sentenced next month. Lucy Higgins, 35, was arrested after the prang between her black Vauxhall Corsa and the fire engine on Dixon Way, Westlea, on Thursday afternoon at 3.20pm. No one was injured and the emergency vehicle was able to return to the fire station. Appearing before Swindon Magistrates Court this afternoon, Higgins, of Dixon Way, pleaded guilty to drink driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence. She was bailed to return to the court on June 22 for sentence. The justices ordered a pre-sentence report.
