WAPELLO — The patience of several members of the Louisa Regional Solid Waste Agency (LRSWA) toward other members who fail to attend the agency’s quarterly meetings has apparently run out.

The waiver was suggested by Iowa Department of Natural Resources officials after they learned the berm’s high cost could have forced the LRSWA to close the transfer station.
According to Iowa Administrative Code, “a transfer station shall not be located within a 100-year floodplain unless the design includes structures to prevent floodwater inundation from a 100-year flood of any area that comes into contact with solid waste or wash water.”
