. The protests are spreading beyond the bay area, beyond San Francisco, oakland, and san jose. I am working from home tonight. We saw protests in the big cities, and in less likely spots like livermore, redwood city, vallejo, and others. What we have seen today, it has been peaceful, thankfully. In oakland, hundreds of protesters marched to Police Headquarters near downtown, the crowd expressed anger of the killing of george floyd, calling for justice. For a time, group of demonstrators stood in a line across from Law Enforcement near eighth and broadway. We did not see any confrontations from our vantage point. In redwood city, another line of officers blocked testers from getting onto highway 101 about 90 minutes ago. The demonstration has been going on since 4 00 this afternoon. Ill have to compete with the outdoors and hopefully well convince you youve made the right choice hanging out with us to talk about media and biography in political history. Between the four of us, we have written at least 17 biographies and it might be more than that. I was losing count because Randy Roberts has written so many. More than half of our total number, i think. So we have a lot of experience in this genre that weve been drawn to and have an affinity for it in some way or another. So before we begin let me introduce the panelists and as i introduce each of you if you could spend a minute or two telling the audience what was it that drew you to biography and what is it you love about the genre .
