The worst thing that can happen to a television show is a cancellation, especially when it doesnât get a proper finale. Showtimeâs
Ray Donovan suffered that fate last year, as the network announced it would be cancelling the crime drama after seven seasons. But after hope and speculation, Showtime recently announced it would be wrapping up the storyline in a feature-length film, but what will the film be about?
The new
Ray Donovan film, which will premiere sometime in 2022, will reportedly pick up where Season 7 left off when it ended in January of 2020, according to Deadline. Mickey was in the wind and Ray was determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more tragedy. According to the trade, it will also weave together the present-day fallout from the Donovan/Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickeyâs origin story from 30 years prior.
