A 30-year-old man is charged in connection with making false allegations about a police officer, the Loris Police Department announced Friday. Daniel Aaron Ledford was charged Friday, April 26, with slander and libel. Police say the suspect had a role in creating, "uttering, circulating, and publishing" false accusations.
The Loris Police Department has requested the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division investigate allegations of misconduct by a member of the department, a SLED spokesperson said.
