The Earl Nichols arena clinic’s last day will be Sept. 3 and the North London Optimist community centre clinic’s final day will be Sept. 4, the Middlesex-London Health Unit announced Wednesday.

The Nichols site, the last of the four local clinics to open, could reopen in October if necessary, the agency said.
The unit also is adjusting August hours at its four clinics:
North London Optimist community centre clinic will run seven days a week till July 30, close for the Civic holiday weekend and reopen Aug. 3, running Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As of Sunday evening, 509,954 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the London area since the first shot was given at the Western Fair District Agriplex clinic Dec. 23, medical officer of health Chris Mackie said Monday.

The shots were given through mass vaccination sites, primary care, mobile clinics and pharmacies. More than 100,000 doses have been given in the last two weeks alone.
“It’s a truly tremendous task that really could only be done by all of the teams working together in the health-care sector, as well as all the people who came out and gave their arms to us to vaccinate,” Mackie said.
