A kaleidoscope of blue and red hues filled the Colich Throws Center and Loker Stadium as the rivals competed. Yet instead of seizing the title of “We Run LA,” the Bruins were swept by their opponents.
The BYU track and field team concluded its outdoor season opener Saturday at Cromwell Field and Loker Stadium in Los Angeles, placing several athletes in multiple events and continuing to climb the record books.
TeeTee Terry was named West Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year, Caryl Smith Gilbert West Region Women's Coach of the Year and Quincy Watts West Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year it was announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) today (June 4).
Terry, Smith Gilbert and Watts were all instrumental in the Trojans winning their third consecutive Pac-12 team title, the team qualifying in 20 events for the NCAA Championships and for the current No. 2 team ranking.

Redshirt freshman Charles Hicks ran the second-fastest winning 10k time at the Pac-12 Championship in 38 years to start the Cardinal off strong on Friday, and senior Julia Heymach capped the meet with a surprise 5k victory on Sunday in an eventful weekend. Both the Stanford men and women placed in seventh at the conclusion of the meet on Sunday evening.
