ISLAMABAD: Three more deaths and 349 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the capital on Friday.
Officials of the local administration said the three deaths raised the toll from the virus in the capital to 702. The deceased were two males in the age group of 70-79 and a female in the age group of 60-69.
They were residents of Bhara Kahu, Bari Imam and Phulgran.
In the last 24 hours, 3,836 tests were conducted out of which 185 males and 164 females were found infected. The positivity rate was 9.08 per cent.
The officials said 66 cases were reported in the age group of 20-29, by 59 in 30-39, 58 in 40-49, 47 in 50-59, 43 in 0-9, 32 in 60-69, 31 in 10-19, nine in 70-79 and four in 80 and above.

Besides, 431 more cases emerged in the capital and 171 in garrison city. Officials of the capital administration said the deceased, two males and two females, were in the age group of 60-69, 70-79, 50-59. They were residents of E-11, I-10, F-11 and Sihala. The officials said the death toll from the virus had increased to 683.
In the last 24 hours, 4,948 tests were conducted in the capital and the positivity rate remained 8.71 per cent.
There are 12,495 active cases, the officials said, adding Loi Bher has 852 active cases followed by 644 at Tarlai, 591 at Bhara Kahu, 505 at G-6, 443 at G-10, 424 at G-11, 410 in G-9, 407 in I-8, 376 in G-7, 340 in E-11, 335 in I-10, 332 in Rawat, 307 in G-8, 276 in F-11, 258 each in Chak Shahzd, Sohan, 248 in G-13, 246 in Khanna, 242 in F-6, 226 in Alipur, 222 in F-10, 198 in F-8, 187 in Kurri, 148 in I-9, 142

Officials of the capital administration said two deaths were reported in the age group of 30-39 and both were males. The death of a male each was reported in the age group of 60-69 and 80-89. A woman in the age group of 70-79 also succumbed to the virus.
They were residents of Loi Bher, G-6, I-10, B-17 and H-13. With the latest casualties, the death toll from Covid-19 in the capital has reached 670.
