Growing Cougar baseball program takes the field

Here’s a look at the area baseball teams. Hamilton will not field a team this season. Central Noble Coach: Tyler Graybeal The Central Noble baseball program is growing. There are 32 players in the program this year, which allowed them to put together a C team. On the varsity, Dylan Eggl, Will Hoover, Jackson Hoover, Cade Weber and Noah Christopher are all returning with varsity experience. The newcomers are Tyler Shisler, Jaxon Copas, Justin Krider, Aidan Dreibelbis, Caleb Weaver, Aidan Harman, Nick Godsey, Chase Spencer and Sawyer Yoder. The strength of the Cougars will be their depth. With more players in the program, they will be able to utilize a lot of different athletes.

Baseball team opens season with late romp

AUBURN — Garrett scored most of its runs late, giving new head coach Jason Richards a win in his first game at the helm. The Railroaders broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the sixth and six more in the seventh to defeat Lakewood Park 10-1 at Auburn April 6. For most of the game, Garrett senior Gage Smith and Lakewood Park freshman Corbin White were locked in a pitcher’s duel. White pitched into the seventh when he was lifted after the first two Railroaders reached base on an error and a walk. He allowed eight hits, four coming in the sixth inning, five runs (only one earned), four strikeouts and three walks.
