The attention economy impacts on our time, our mental health, and the ways we communicate. That’s all great to know, but how can brands earn a piece of the attention pie in an age flooded by brands vying for the same eyes, minds, and hearts.
On 5 May, I took part in a Future of Media panel where my fellow panelists and I discussed the attention economy and what brands should be doing to break through the endless content noise.
A big focus should be talkability – the ability to motivate consumers to discuss and share news, marketing, and other information about your brand.

A dashcam video showing the moment an armored cash-in-transit vehicle coming under the attack of armed robbers has gone viral for its adrenaline-raising action and the composed response of the security guards.
The incident from Pretoria in South Africa happened on April 22 when members of a private security company were transporting money in a truck.
The three-minute video shows a security officer, identified as Leo Prinsloo, behind the wheels of a Toyota Land Cruiser. He is accompanied by another officer, Lloyd Mthombeni. Both are seen wearing bulletproof vests.

DURBAN - Leo Prinsloo, the hero guard whose brave escape from armed suspects has sparked the interests of communities around the world, has been placed under police guard following death threats.
Deon Coetzee, of the Fortis Group said they have had to step up security around him following the threats.
Coetzee said Prinsloo and Lloyd Mthombeni had been escorting a van that was transporting cellphones when they came under attack.
He said the modus operandi of criminals is to take out both the escort vehicle and the courier vehicle.
