The mayor of Watson Lake, Yukon, is the latest official to voice his concern over the lack of long-term care options in his community. Chris Irvin said at this point, Watson Lake needs something whether it's two long-term care beds, or a brand new facility.
Yukon's health minister says the idea of a long-term care facility in Watson Lake is "still being explored," and that she's also willing to consider options for spouses to stay with their loved ones in long-term care.
