Brampton School gets international attention over initiative

A BRAMPTON school got unforeseen international attention for their work on a Hero Wall initiative. Last month the students at William Howard School, Longtown Road, appealed to other pupils and staff for video clips, photos, drawings and poems to go on the wall. The project was led by the heads of school house Mpingo, Kayla Halliwell and Ellis Mayson - and co-ordinated by staff head of house Liz Brereton. They aimed to raise money for their nominated charity, Eden Valley Hospice. A number also made a video which was published on the school s website. From there the initiative was eagerly picked up by a newshound in Ontario, Canada who asked associate headteacher Tracey Hill for an interview, who duly obliged.
