民以食为天，食以安为先。在“我为群众办实事”实践活动中，市市场监管局积极回应公众对食品安全的关切，提高群众对食品安全抽检过程的参与度和对食品安全抽检结果的信任度，营造社会公众科学关注食品安全，主动参与食品抽检的浓厚氛围，为百姓食品安全筑起又一道屏障。
在当天活动现场，食品安全快速检测车前排起了长队，很多市民在等待送检样品的检测结果。“我经常来这家超市买菜，今天看到有免费检测服务，就想测一测蔬菜的农药残留是否超标。”一位市民从购物袋中取出菠菜、豆角和樱桃来，每样取出一些样品，递给登记人员。
从食品取样浸泡、试剂反应、上机检验到检测结果，有的样品检测仅仅两三分钟就出来结果了，用时最长的检测项目也就半个小时。记者采访的多半个小时里，市民送检的果蔬、生肉等7个样品全部
