Race, pandemic highlight Littleton school board candidate s forum

Wicked Local LITTLETON The pandemic s impact, school start times and fighting racism highlighted an April 20 candidates forum featuring the School Committee race. The forum, sponsored by the Littleton Rotary Club, included the three candidates running for two open seats incumbent Justin McCarthy, and challengers Jen Gold and Jennifer Wilson. Town Moderator Tim Goddard oversaw the forum, which included candidates for contested and uncontested seats in the May 8 election. Start times in focus The candidates fielded questions from the public. One question asked the candidates views on school start times, including later start times for middle and high school students.

Littleton Rotary to host triathlon; COVID rules may limit enrollment

Vaccination required All participants must receive COVID-19 vaccines before the event. The Department of Public Health may limit the number of participants in large-scale events. Registrants will be notified of their decision as soon as the Littleton Rotary Club receives word, the press release said. The Appleman Triathlon is returning following last year s cancellation due to the pandemic. The event was among several athletic competitions and community events cancelled or postponed for COVID-related reasons. More details and a sign-up link are available on the Appleman Triathlon website. Changes in rules Gov. Charlie Baker announced on April 26 plans for easing masks restrictions and other measures.

Wicked Local LITTLETON The COVID-19 pandemic, water quality concerns and health officials authority highlighted questions to Board of Health candidates at a recent forum. The forum, held April 20 and sponsored by the Littleton Rotary Club, featured two of  three candidates for two open seats in the May 8 election incumbent Kevin Baker and challenger Dan Kane. Each seat has a three-year term. The Board of Health race is one of three contests, including Select Board and School Committee, in this year s election. Town Moderator Tim Goddard oversaw the forum. The candidates fielded questions including those submitted by the public.

Littleton candidates night set Wicked Local LITTLETON The Rotary Club of Littleton will host a forum for candidates running for Littleton municipal offices in the May 8 municipal election. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the forum will held virtually. The forum, dubbed a Candidates Night, will take place April 20, 7 p.m.  Town ModeratorTim Goddard, Town Moderator, will moderate the event.
