Since January there have been a series of deadly attacks on Indian students and young professionals in the US and Canada, raising concerns about the increase in hate crimes and racism abroad
48 of these students were reported dead in the UK, 40 in Russia, 36 in the US, 35 in Australia, 21 in Ukraine, and 20 in Germany. The deaths have been reported across 34 countries including Cyprus, Italy, the Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, and Taiwan
The horrific crime was captured on camera, showing the attacker, Julian Faulkner, hitting Indian student Vivek Saini repeatedly on the head with a hammer, nearly 50 times.

Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office located the body of the missing Indian youth Neel Acharya on the Purdue campus; the cause of his death is not yet known.
