IONIA The Ionia Free Fair is back.
The Ionia Free Fair is set to return July 16-24, according to a news release issued Wednesday, May 26. The Fair’s Board of Directors recently voted to move ahead with this year’s event.
The 2020 Ionia Free Fair was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic marking the first year without a Fair since World War II.
Lisa Sanford, an Ionia veterinarian and the Fair’s board president, stated event officials are excited to be back in 2021.
“We have been working on different scenarios, with the idea that we would have some kind of event in 2021 while paying close attention to what was happening with COVID and state mandates,” Sanford stated.
Sixth SoCal Driver In 3 Months Reports Window Blown Out On Freeway Syndicated Local – CBS Los Angeles
CORONA (CBSLA) – Another driver said her windows were blown out on a Southern California freeway, leading to worry among drivers in Los Angeles, Orange County and Riverside County.
Lisa Sanford said she was driving back to work on the 15 Freeway in Corona in March. Right before she got to the 91 connector, she heard cracking noises all along her passenger side, then one of her windows shattered.
“Somebody’s really gonna get hurt,” said Sanford.
She said the California Highway Patrol told her it was probably just road debris but when she took it to a body shop to get it fixed, they said the damage was definitely caused by a BB gun.
