Apple has signed Oscar-winner Julia Roberts to star in an upcoming Apple TV+ drama based on Laura Dave s anticipated novel of the same name.
The novel, which won t be released until May of 2021, follows a woman who forms an unexpected relationship with her sixteen-year-old daughter as they search for the truth as to why her husband has mysteriously disappeared. Roberts will star as the lead.
The limited series will air exclusively on Apple TV+ and produced by Reese Witherspoon s production company, Hello Sunshine. Hello Sunshine also produced Apple TV+ s The Morning Show.
According to
Deadline, The Last Thing He Told Me is created by Laura Dave and co-created by her husband, Oscar-winner Josh Singer. It will be executive produced by Roberts, Singer, Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter in association with Hello Sunshine, and Marisa Yeres Gill and Lisa Gillan in association with Red Om Films.

When Apple TV+ was announced and revealed its initial lineup, people mostly shrugged. Sure, they had big names, but nothing seemed particularly memorable. But the service has pressed on and built itself an interesting amount of programming including fan favorites like
Ted Lasso and upcoming movies like Martin Scorsese’s
Killers of the Flower Moon. And now
Julia Roberts wants in on that Apple TV+ action. Roberts will produce and star in the Apple TV+ limited series
The Last Thing He Told Me. The series is an adaptation of the upcoming
Laura Dave novel about “how one woman must learn the truth of her husband’s disappearance no matter the cost.”

Actress and producer Julia Roberts has signed on to star in a series adaptation of the upcoming Laura Dave novel The Last Thing He Told Me for Apple TV+.
Roberts will executive produce in addition to starring, with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter of Hello Sunshine also executive producing. Hello Sunshine optioned the book from Dave, who will adapt the book for television and executive produce along with her husband, Josh Singer.
Marisa Yeres Gill and Lisa Gillan will also executive produce with Roberts through their Red Om Films banner. 20th Television will serve as the studio.
