don t really think much about what was said yesterday, right, the jury is going to decide something today or get the case today, and that s this is the closest thing they re going to hear from the lawyer before they get the case. and so the defense is trying to knock holes to knock her off her track to sort of get mess up the flow, i guess, of the argument that is being raise a doubt in the mind in the jury. that s their job here. yeah, absolutely. we heard the defense point out, this is her interpretation and she should be clear about that. the prosecutor saying i think i have been clear, i didn t interrupt the defense yesterday when they were saying what their interpretation was, you know, elliott, as a former prosecutor, as you re listening to lisa dunikoski today in her rebuttal, i m hearing her go through each point, that the defense made, both over the course of the trial, and also in closing arguments yesterday and do her best to dismantle those. and specifically on se
before handing the case to the jury. when three people chase an unarmed man in two pickup trucks with guns in order to violate his personal liberty, who gets to claim, i m not really responsible for that ? under the law in georgia, no one gets to say that. everybody is responsible. reporter: prosecutor lisa dunikoski had the last word, telling the jury that even though travis mcmichael shot and killed ahmaud arbery, gregory mcmichael and william roddie bryan are just as guilty for chasing arbery in their trucks. it doesn t matter who actually pulled the trigger. under the law, they re all guilty. reporter: of the nine women and three men on the jury, only one of them is black. they are deliberating nine counts against each defendant that include murder and aggravated assault. defense attorneys say they feel good about the their case. we ll see what the jury feels is justice, and we will accept the verdict, whatever it is. an appeal? we re going to win. i don t know what
what we heard from the defense and their closing arguments yesterday, talking about how they made their decisions, what those decisions resulted in, laying all that out. so the big question of course will be was it effective once the jury does begin its deliberations? joining us to discuss, federal and white collar attorney carolyn policey. shan, as former prosecutor, as you re watching the way this unfolded, yes, it s what you want a prosecutor to do in a rebuttal, right? rebut what they have heard from the defense. but what else stood out to you in the way that lisa dunikoski laid this out? i thought she did a good job. she really tried to give the jury the high points they should focus on. and to me, what i came away with was this idea that the knowledge that the defendants had simply
