next chapter in deep space exploration. we are four hours away from the launch to the moon at kennedy space center. there will not be a crew, this is the first step in sending astronauts back to the moon. nasa already had task of the first launch. now they are reporting that their engineers are currently working to fix a liquid hydrogen leak. msnbc s lindsey reiser gives us a closer look at the launch systems cutting edge technology. lindsey, hello. we are going to give you a bird s-eye view of the rocket. we are gonna test our building to go into deep space. the vehicle is built for humans. let s show you around. the rocket has five main components. the engine, the booster, is the core stage, the upper stage, and the orion spacecraft. i am on the bridge here. this is where the astronauts
woman along the coast seems to be crammed there to watch it. brandy campbell is among them. brandy. reporter: good morning, neilful well, look, it s summer in florida and, you know, at any moment we can see storms pop up. right now we are doing good, but we ve got to keep in mind it is hurricane season, and there are two tropical systems out in the link, earl and danielle. luckily, teams here are not worried about those storms as they are far away from us right now. let s take a look at artemis, the star of the show. right now teams are working on sealing a liquid hydrogen leak that they ve been working on for about an hour and a half. that s definitely going to mess with us with an on-time start here. hopefully, we have a launch. but artemis is the strongest rocket ever made for an uncrewed journey around the moon, and it s going to go further than any other human spacecraft. and the focus is to do a stress
miles o brien, great to see you. thanks so much for your timement we appreciate it. a mission to the moon 50 years in the making will have to wait just a little bit longer. nasa s historic artemis 1 launch was scrubbed today, called off for the second time due to a liquid hydrogen leak. they may have to roll the moon rocket all the way back to the vehicle assembly building for repairs, a move that could push back a future launch attempt for weeks. we are waiting on an update from nasa any moment, and we ll bring that to you just as soon as it comes in. coming up, the new details about the dangers at a nuclear plant in ukraine that s been under constant shelling. a live report on what inspectors found next. with hand-crafted steakburgers and chicken sandwiches. there s a perfect plate for everyone. great t value for all your favorites only from ihop. download the app and earn free food with every orderer. you ve put your dreams on hold. remember this?
of artemis one. a liquid hydrogen leak is to blame for this latest setback. let s go live to kennedy space center and kristen fisher. we know nasa held a news conference a short time ago. what did they have to say? well, jessica, they said this was bigger than the one monday. they can fix it and roll it back to the building. which is four miles away. to move a rocket this big, it can take up to three and a half days to do that. so regardless of where they fix it, they are not going to have enough time to make these repairs before the end of this launch window, which ends on tuesday. so that pushes the next launch attempt of the artemis moon rocket to the end of september at the earliest. more likely in october. if not later.
hard break, but your thoughts. you re a new mantra. you can connect with her. i know. there is no surprise. she drew record numbers watching her play. celebrities were sitting in her place box. bets were going in every direction. she has been more than tennis. way more than tennis. people who don t watch the sport will still what serena. you re right tiffany, she explicitly said that she is ready to be a mom. she s ready to explore different versions of herself. if i m being honest, i think her greatest contributions really have yet to come. her journey still continues. i completely agree. our journey ends here. so thank you so much lin wynne and roland martin for being here. i love having you both. and we ve got some breaking news to get to. nasa has officially scrub the artemis one launched today after engineers failed to fix the liquid hydrogen leak. we ll have much more on this. we ll still gonna talk about. it but first, our next segment,
