The penalty is with respect to acquisition of stake by the company in Bharti Telemedia from Warbug Pincus affiliate entity Lion Meadow Investment Limited. “We submit that the Competition Commission of India, vide its order dated August 23, 2023, has imposed a penalty amounting to Rs 1 crore under Section 43A of the Competition Act, 2002,” Bharti Airtel said in a regulatory filing.
