The government has extended the deadline to link Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar to June 30, 2023, the Ministry of Finance informed in a release on Tuesday.
The comment from the government agency came amid few media reports of UIDAI system outages in linking Aadhaar with the PAN card and EPFO. The media reports stated that Aadhaar users are struggling due to the glitches as the PAN, EPF linking deadline nears, to which UIDAI clarified that the reports are ''inaccurate'' and the services are working fine.

Linking of PAN with biometric identifier Aadhaar will continue as previously directed and so will quoting of the 12-digit ID number for availing various government subsidies, UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey said on Thursday.
The Supreme Court verdict holding privacy as a fundamental right has in no way stopped quoting of Aadhaar for various schemes as well as filing of income tax returns, Pandey said.
