The Jagityal area in Telangana is well known for cultivation of export quality mangos. Till now, during the mango season, the traders, cargo aggregators and farmers were transporting these superior quality mangoes by road to different parts of the country, which is expensive, time taking and prone to relatively more enorute damages and losses, said South Central Railway (SCR).

Image Source: IANS News Secunderabad, April 13 : For the first time, mangoes from Telangana are being transported to Delhi by Kisan Rail. On Tuesday, a total of 476 tons of mangoes were loaded in 20 parcel van units from Lingampet Jagityal for dispatch to Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi. The Jagityal area in Telangana is well known for the cultivation of export quality mangoes. Till now, during the mango season the traders, cargo aggregators and farmers were transporting these superior quality mangoes by road to different parts of the country, which is expensive, time taking and prone to relatively more enroute damages and losses.

Telangana and Maharashtra.   Majority of work taken up in new sections, across three States Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra South Central Railway on Thursday claimed that it has electrified 750 track km on its rail network during the financial year 2020-21. Importantly, 612 track km of this have been electrified in the new sections, while around 64 track kms of double lines and 69 track kms of third lines have also been electrified. This achievement is particularly remarkable as the works were carried across the zone, inspite of the COVID-19 pandemic, said General Manager Gajanan Mallya.
