Oh, moms. Where would we be without them? They are a shoulder to cry on, the biggest supporters, and the people who will be brutally honest just when we need it. Most importantly, behind every Nittany Lion is a Penn State mom.
Moms deserve praise
every day, but especially on Mother’s Day. To capture the holiday’s spirit, some of our staffers reflected on what their Penn State moms mean to them.

Mom, I would not be the woman I am today if it were not for you. You’ve shown me what it means to be patient, kind, selfless, and ambitious. You are my role model in every way and I couldn’t be more grateful for all that you do. Thank you for helping to move me in and out of two apartments this year, spoiling me with your cooking (I will never get enough of it), going on hiking and road trips with me, sharing my photos, supporting me in whatever I do, reminding me that I won’t die from a minor illness, and providing me with some unparalleled life advice. Also, thank

Humans Students certainly aren’t the only ones enjoying the warmer weather. Penn State’s furry and feathery friends are out and about, too.

While getting distracted with schoolwork, clubs, and everything in between, you might forget to realize that it’s time for a haircut.
Even though many people still get their trimmings at home, there are plenty of great places to choose from to get a new look. With that said, some of our staffers made their picks for the best places to a haircut in State College.
Lindsay Tagliere: J. Rose & Co. Salon
J. Rose & Co. Salon has been my go-to for haircuts over the last year. Jenny’s absolutely wonderful. I swear she works magic and has never given me a bad haircut. I always leave with exactly what I wanted going in without any fuss. Her salon is in the Retreat clubhouse at 300 Waupelani Drive, but there’s also an option for house calls on her website.
Grocery shopping is just one of those chores you can’t get out of doing.
While you can put off laundry for another day, you can’t necessarily put off eating. Besides, Grubhub and Uber Eats aren’t the cheapest options, and there are only so many days you can order out in a row before you start to feel gross.
However, a nice grocery store can make the food shopping experience all the more bearable. Luckily for Penn State students, State College has a plethora of grocery stores for them and the surrounding community to choose from.
But which store ranks supreme? Our staff’s go-to grocery shoppers weighed in.
