Owen Hiltz ties record with 7 goals as Syracuse lacrosse overpowers Robert Morris

Syracuse, N.Y. Owen Hiltz tied a school record for freshman with seven goals and Owen Seebold added five goals and two assists as the Syracuse lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season with a 21-14 win over Robert Morris on Friday afternoon in the Carrier Dome.
Tucker Dordevic posted a hat trick for a balanced Orange attack, and Stephen Rehfuss added two goals and three assists. Ryan Smith tallied seven times for Robert Morris.
Ben Savick was sensational in net for the Colonials with 20 saves, while SU goalie Drake Porter stopped nine. SU faceoff man Jakob Phaup won 24-32 faceoffs and scooped up 16 ground balls.

Syracuse, N.Y. In a late-stretch notably lacking in feel-good moments, the Syracuse lacrosse team earned an important one on Friday.
The Orange’s romp over Robert Morris might have been the lacrosse equivalent of a layup, but Syracuse will take it.
Owen Hiltz tied a school freshman record with seven goals, and Syracuse’s offense poured it on from there as Syracuse overcame some early defensive lapses and hammered the Colonials, 21-14 in the Carrier Dome.
Owen Seebold chipped in with five goals and two assists, Tucker Dordevic posted a hat trick and Stephen Rehfuss put up two goals and three assists. Faceoff man Jakob Phaup grabbed 24-of-32 faceoffs and snagged 16 ground balls.

Syracuse, N.Y. Syracuse University has suspended star lacrosse player Chase Scanlan from the team hours after his arrest Friday.
The university released a statement on Scanlan’s status moments before the team’s game against Robert Morris got underway inside the Carrier Dome.
“We were notified today that Chase Scanlan has been arrested by the Syracuse Police Department. The Department of Athletics immediately convened the Athletics Privileges Committee to evaluate and determine appropriate action,” the statement said.

Goalie Drake Porter, attack Stephen Rehfuss and Owen Hiltz, midfielder Jamie Trimboli and FOGO Danny Varello all posted the same message on their social media pages.
