One Slight Hitch on stage, Garland in the wings

The comedy “One Slight Hitch” continues at the IceHouse Theatre in Mount Dora this week as an ex crashes his former wife’s wedding. Also on stage are two musical shows with Stars of the Sixties including Gary Puckett along with The Vogues in Clermont on Friday and the tribute show Sounds of the Seasons in Eustis on Saturday. Coming up, “The Property Known as Garland”  is on stage Feb. 12 to 21 by the Tavares Theater Company. “One Slight Hitch” The IceHouse Theatre in Mount Dora continues the comedy “One Slight Hitch” until Feb. 7. The story is set in the summer of 1981, at the suburban Cincinnati home of Doc and Delia Coleman. It s Courtney s wedding day, and her mother, Delia, is making sure that everything is perfect. The bride’s dress, the flowers, the décor, the food are all perfectly planned to come off without a hitch, that is until the doorbell rings and all heck breaks loose, with the unannounced arrival of Courtney’s ex.

On Stage: Leesburg, Eustis theater groups wrap up 2020 with a laugh Linda Florea Live shows are wrapping up for the holidays and the year this week with two comedies, “Rumors” by the Melon Patch Players in Leesburg, and “Making God Laugh,” a holiday-themed production at the Living Drama Theatre in Eustis. Also performing this week are the Bay Street Players Young People’s Theatre with two virtual Zoom performances of “Little Women” today and Friday and live performances of Festive Holiday Melodies: A YPT Holiday Cabaret Saturday and Sunday. Look ahead to January with three productions to start off the new year.
