mind. second question is should we have all these debates? should these candidates be flying all over the country and doing all these debates instead of canvassing the areas in which these votes first opened like iowa, new hampshire, south carolina, etc. i love all the debates because they really made a big difference. people have a great idea about what jon huntsman stands for and what all of them as well. what s interesting about rick perry is and maybe one of the reasons he thinks he can do this is historically down in texas, he has ducked the debates and yet, he has been elected governor in the state of texas so for him, it s worked. i think for americans, we like the debates. six million watched. what are you talking about? for candidates, i think they d prefer not to debate because there s a lot to risk. i was astounded to see not only is mitt romney winning in the first four states, even in iowa where he barely goes, he s on top. straight ahead on our show, a stunning
governor of texas, apparently coming up with the next 15 or so debates. he might not be at them. he s going to be at the next one november 9th and that s going to be on international affairs so that should be interesting but he said we re not going to be showing up at all. better off going to iowa, south carolina and florida doing some campaigning there. his spokesperson communications director who was on here yesterday and did not say this, it kind of bothers me. came out and said look, we get tougher questions in iowa than we do with those debates anyway. publicity, go to the debate. you know what? if you re newt gingrich right now, you are dancing in the streets. i m just telling you. i mean, newt gingrich does well at every single debate and the idea that rick perry is not going to be there it just one ups other people s chances to get their message out to the public. if rick perry is not going to be there, that s going to help mitt romney because, you know, they re so simi
do the american people care about that, though? i think what the american people like about herman cain has nothing to do with what his staffers might say is sour grapes. i think people like herman cain s plans and his candid approach to this whole thing. i think people like the fact that he s doing a grassroots thing and not doing it the way every other politician has done it. and i think people like the bold plan, 999 and now rick perry has a flat tax and yesterday, mitt romney said that if he s lucky enough to go to washington, d.c. as president of the united states, he would try to do something about what he referred to as a platter tax. speaking of debates, newt gingrich and herman cain are apparently going to have like a debate along the lines of the lincoln douglas debates, no moderator or anything like that so they re embracing the debate format. rick perry, though, who has not done well in the debates and in fact, he started at the top and then with each debate performance
they re not helping at all. who wants to watch a boring commercial sing will do something odd. i s in the me. we put up ads i was proud of. sometimes we lledhem contrast ads and othersalled em negative. you rerying to expla we stand here, they stand ere. if you stand here and you don t like it, it s negative. sometimes they are informational and critical without being negative. they don t need to be mean or nasty. some are hokey like the aqua buddha. do we have that? can we see it? i saw it before i came over here. but i m not sure the level of political discourse today is any worse than it was 150 years ago. it s t. we live with the illusion that back in the day everyone was sitting around reading the lincoln-douglas debates. it s snarkier. we have the social media
some a third job. women can t afford to take care of their children, feed their children. the taxes will force businesses out of state. businesses will leave this state quicker than carl paladino at a gay bar. cuomo will be the king of lay-offs. that s why you better go with me. in guy gets in you are going to be laid off. i m not your typical new york politician. i ve never been caught with a prostitute. my dad wasn t governor. and i ve never been convicted of a crime. so you may not be used to me as a politician. sean: the rent is too damn high party. former madame. black panther. i used to be a taxpayer in the state. i m glad i m no longer this is the new zoo review. gives new meaning to the lincoln-douglas debates. sean: it does. the rent is too damn high. sean: he said it 50 times
